Week 10 Notices

 Te ahiahi pai (good afternoon), 


I hope you have been enjoying the sunshine and are feeling recharged as we head into our last week of Term 2. 

We have had a busy term with a variety of events and activities. It felt fitting that last week we practiced Christian Meditation, led by Sister Rachel and Sister Ema from the Sisters of Compassion in Wellington. 

During these sessions, children were asked to sit in Silence and Stillness with a Straight back and Say the word Maranatha to themselves, meaning come Lord Jesus. If you hear your child talking about the 4 S words, this is what they are referring to. 

Christian Meditation is something we are going to continue as a school. It provides an opportunity to take a break and be still, in an otherwise very busy environment!

Tuesday - Library

Wednesday  - Kapa Haka. 

Thursday( Last Day of School)
 - PTA is hosting a disco which is going to be held from 5.30 pm - 7.00 pm. Students are to be at school no earlier than 5:30 please unless their parents are helping to set up. Parents need to be at school before 7pm to pick their children up from the disco. See the poster below for more details. 

- Principals Morning Tea. 

Friday - Teacher Only Day (No school). If you need child care for your child/ren, you can contact Mary-Ann Roling from Glenholme Afterschool on 347 0709 or 0211 215599. Mary-Anne will be caring for students at St Mary’s.

Learning in Weeks 4, 5 and 6

Hi everyone, just playing catch up and realising I have photos and videos of the kids learning from a few weeks ago. Week 4: Cross Country Photos Measuring length and understanding what 1m is. Week 5: Samoan Language Week: The children were learning to sing a Samoan song about the hibiscus flower. Mighty Mathematicians Learning about arrays and how these fit in with multiplication. Skip counting to solve multiplication. Week 6: Mighty Mathematicians:Solving simple division by sharing into equal groups.

  Tena koutou. We hope all our mothers were treated with some lovely surprises today. Happy Mother's Day to all our beautiful mothers! Most of our students completed a virtual Mother's Day card. It will be in their google drive account. Please keep in your prayers those children who no longer have their mothers with them. I wanted to thank everyone for the time you took last week to be involved in your child's goal setting for this term. It was a pleasure to see all of my parents and also to meet new parents. Our children looked so charming in their national costumes dressing up for 'Children’s World of Prayer' day. They looked so proud to be part of this. The mini-marathon on Friday was a great day out. It's nice to see our whanau support, running, and cheering on our tamariki thank you.
