Week 5 notices

Kia Ora Whanau, We hope you have had a great weekend! Whether you've been getting out on an adventure with the family, taking time to relax, or are rushed off your feet, brace yourself for another busy week ahead! Last week, the students had a fantastic time swimming with Henk, learning a drumming sequence, getting their green ticks on Maths Whizz, and becoming more familiar with classroom routines. It was awesome to see our Year 6 Leaders recognised during the Commissioning Ceremony, which I’m sure was inspiring to our Middle School Kids. If you didn't catch our assembly item, here is s short video of the children doing the drumming sequence they learned last week. We were so proud of our kids as they did a fabulous job. Well done to our readers too. So much has happened in the weekend in particular with us now moving to Level 2 of lockdown. We have been here before and we know exactly what to do, we definitely have this! This week: We have swimming every day this week. Ple

Swimming with Henk

This week our students were very lucky to get swimming lessons with Henk. He has a really unique way of getting the kids engaged and having a bit of fun, and at the same time ensuring that are improving in their swimming skills.

Golden Time Week 4

This Friday for Golden Time we played a  modified game of paper scissors rock that involves the whole class.  The kids really enjoyed this game, but due to our assembly, it got cut short. Here is a video of us playing the game.

Bonjour everyone. I trust you have had a lovely weekend, we have truly been blessed with fabulous weather. It sure was a topsy turvy week with the country changing lockdown levels. We were so relieved to be at Level 2 and to still be able to work alongside our learners. It is a nice feeling knowing that we are now down to Level 1. Ash Wednesday was celebrated with a beautiful Liturgy in our school hall last week. We got to meet our new parish priest Fr Thomas. No doubt he is going to deliver the Gospel to us in an engaging and meaningful way. Our students have made a promise during Lent to try and give up some kind of treat such as ice cream or chocolate. It would be interesting to see how strong their willpower is. Watch this space. We also had our beginning of the year mass in the church celebrating our new families. It was lovely to see some parents come to mass. What's on this week:  There is swimming every day this week. Please make sure your child has their togs and towel pac

Prayer Spaces

We have been learning about the importance of a prayer space and an altar in the classroom. The children said it is a good reminder that it is our time to talk to God. Here are some pictures of the prayer spaces that we created.

Week 2 of School

Kia ora Whānau, We hope you have had a great week! We have had a fantastic start to the year, and are enjoying creating a fun, respectful classroom culture. Our focus this week has been building relationships, establishing our Class Treaty, getting to know one another, and putting some routines in place.  Signing our Class Treaty All About Me Art It was great to have Mrs. Cato in today to talk about the following chromebook rules: - Bring Chromebooks into class straight away, do not leave them in bags.  - Name Chromebook bags.  - Bring Chromebooks to school fully charged. - No touching others' devices.  - School accounts are to be used for learning purposes only.  - Login details should not be shared.  - No Chromebooks on the floor or walking around with 'butterfly wings'. We also had a bit of fun getting to know the kids in our class by playing some interactive games. BINGO Brithday Celebrations Jockey Game

Kia ora tatou, we are all ready for our first day of school and I am so excited to see each of our students smiling faces tomorrow. It is a short week, which is a great way to ease our children back into school mode without too much of a shock to the system. It was an absolute pleasure meeting one on one and chatting with your child. Thank you all for taking some time out of your very busy schedules to come and meet with us. I have never done anything like this before and I found it to be a very valuable experience. Just a few week reminders for the week: Tuesday: Powhiri and Waitangi Liturgy at 10:15am.  Friday: Golden Time Interschool House Competition Tug of War Don't forget your sunhat. Our sun is pretty strong this summer so we need to be extra careful. If you have any questions, do send me an email and I will get back to you as best I can. Have a wonderful week!
