Week 9 Notices

 Talofa everyone. Last week was a jam-packed week full of so many exciting events. Our swimming sports last Monday was a real success. I am sending out a big congratulations to all our students who gave it a go and gave it their best. Also to our parent helpers, we are so grateful to have supportive parents who can help during the event. T h ank you so much for giving up some time to help in this.  We know there were touch games and a Pasifika Group performance that happened over the weekend. I am looking forward to hearing about how these went. If your child was involved in any of these events, and you took some photos, please email them to me and I will post them onto our blog. This week we remember that it is Holy Week. Holy week marks the events leading up to Jesus' death and His resurrection. It starts with Palm Sunday, when Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a donkey. Annunciation of our Lord Jesus Art Competition

  We had an art competition to illustrate the Annunciation Story using google draw. These were our top contestants: Eryn, Kieran, Lydia (2nd = Rm 14), Tai ( 1st Rm 14), Vidhi, Xyrus ( 2nd= Rm 14), Adam (2nd in Rm 15), Alex( 1st Rm 15), Claire, Emma D(3rd Rm 15), Owen, Wiremu.

Week 8 Notices

  Kia ora whānau, It was so great to see you at the Gala on Friday evening. I'm sure you will all agree that it had a 'buzzing' atmosphere and the kids had an awesome time. Thank you again for all of your support.  Things on this week: Swimming Sports: When : This Monday 22nd March for our Kahikatea and Totara teams. Where : The swimming sports will be held at the Rotorua Aquatic Centre on Tarewa Road in Rotorua.. Time : Years 3 – 6 students need to be dropped off at the Aquatic Centre on the day to meet their teacher by 8:45 am. Swimming sports will finish at approximately 2:30 pm. Clothing and gear : Children may come to swimming sports in their house colours, they may wear their togs under their clothes. Everyone needs togs & towels, sunhat, sunblock, warm clothes, lunch & a drink. End of the day : Children need to be collected from the Aquatic Centre by 3:00pm at the latest.  A Huge Congratulations to Lydia who took part in the  Ocean Kids Swim Race. Lydia placed 1st 9-year-old female! What a fabulous result. We also congratulate Lydia's whanau on the arrival of the new of her new baby sister Esmay. It will be a very busy few weeks in your household.

Week 7 Notices

Kamusta Parents and Caregivers I am amazed at how fast this term has moved. We are already in week 7. This week is jam-packed full of fabulous learning opportunities for our students. Please ensure you have read the information below to keep up with what is happening. What's happening this week:  Yes, you heard it right....it is Gala Week this week! We are very excited to start collecting the last lot of items for our gala. this week Please see below for what we would love to see coming in. There is a class prize for the most items brought in.  Mon: Library Day. Thurs: ICT Club at lunch time with Mr James. All Middle Schoolers are welcome. Fri: St Joseph's Mass at 9am. All are welcome! To celebrate St Joseph's Day, we are going to have a fun afternoon doing wonderful activities in our houses. Please bring in accessories and house colours to change into after mass. Fri: School Gala 4pm. Please note there will be no sausage sizzle on Friday due to Gala. What's coming Up:

 We had our first cricket session with Mr Fisher this week. We were focussing on our throwing and catching skills.

Unplugged Maths Game

  These kids were having a ball learning a new maths game using cards.  To play you should have 3 players. Two of the players hold a card up to their head with the number showing the other. You just not look at your own card. The third person has to say the total of the cards added together. Your job is to guess what your number is by using the clues.

Stations of The Cross

  Kia Whanau, As we are learning about the Stations of the Cross this week I was hoping to make the learning meaning full to the children by asking that they bring one item on the list from home so we can make a Stations of the Cross Treasure Box. This will hopefully allow for our children to understand what happened during each station as Jesus' made his way to His cross before He died. Here is the list: Thank you for your help.

Week 6 Notices

  Kia ora Whanau We are over halfway through term one, and fall has taken hold with some lovely rain and cooler nights. We are back down to Level 1 now and invite you back into the school, please though remember that if your child isn't well to keep them at home. Last week, we finished off our time with Henk. The students and teachers learned a lot and had fun with him. We will be swimming again this week in preparation for our Swimming sports day on Monday 22nd March for our Kahikatea and Totara teams.
