Week 10 Notices

K ia ora parents and whānau, congratulations on making it to the last week of term!  It has been a whirlwind of a term with lockdown and everyone has done a tremendous job getting to the end happily and safely. Thank you again for giving our students supportive and loving homes, the adjustment made to school was a lot easier thanks to that.  It will be a very busy final week for our children. Lockdown has meant we have had to catch up on many of the activities missed during that time. Check Kieran out giving commands in Maori in this video. As part of the KOS ( Keeping Ourselves Safe) programme, the kids have been learning about being caretakers and making responsible choices. This week they need to bring an egg in to look after. Catholic Schools Day will be celebrated this week on Wednesday. As a Catholic school, we celebrate our unique Catholic Character in faith excellence and service. Tena Koutou everyone and welcome to our second to last week of school. Our first full week at school was spent with activities celebrating Maori Language week. It is so good to see the kids giving it a try and taking part in the different activities.  Here is a video to celebrate: Kia Kaha te Reo Maori: Make the Maori Language Strong. As we are still at Level 2 we are still encouraging that our kids sanitize before they come into class. Please ensure they bring in a drink bottle as water fountains are still out of bounds. Thank you very much for your support in this. Last Friday, some kids came with some fabulous wigs to wear for the day. The school managed to fundraise $580 to go towards the Cancer Society. What a fabulous effort. What's happening this week: Tuesday: Library Friday: Golden Time It is so lovely to see the sun out today. Let's cross our fingers that this weather continues for the rest of the week. Have an awesome week everyone. Kahikatea Team.

Good morning to everyone on another lovely sunny day. Happy Fathers Day to all our dads, we hope you have a special day in your bubble. It's hard to believe that almost three weeks ago we went into lockdown.  A big thank you to all of our families for the support you are giving your children with their Home Learning Programmes during this time.  It has been a big learning curve for many of us and certainly a time of building resilience.  I feel so blessed to work in such a supportive and caring community. The Prime Minister announces late Monday afternoon what the next plan is.  Fingers crossed we move to Level 2 soon. This week we will continue with the Home Learning online. We have our daily meetings on Google Meet at 10am. The children and us teachers have been enjoying connecting and doing some fun activities. We hope you have had no problems accessing the learning on the Middle School Kahikatea site. Remember that all the information regarding home learning can be found o
