Week 5 Notices

Talofa Room 14 fānau

Week 4 was busy with some really awesome events. Students participated in a successful Cross Country and were able to experience their fitness training pay off. On Thursday we had a wonderful Pentecost liturgy run by the Kākano team. We ended the week on a delicious note by having a shared lunch. Thank you for the variety of kai that was provided. 


What's happening this week:

It is Samoan Language Week. On Wednesday and Friday lunchtime, Mr. MacMillan will be in Kakano with some Samoan-related activities for all students to have a go at. 

I am also at a Josephite Colloquium learning about Mary Mackillop and Julian Tennison Woods. I will be away on Monday and Tuesday and Mrs. Pinfold will be in for those two days.

Tuesday: Library. 

Wednesday: Kapa Haka.

Thursday: Singing practice

Fri: Health and Wellbeing Concept day. Samoan Language Week Activities at Lunchtime.

Friendly Reminders:

- Chromebooks need to come to school charged. As we are a BYOD school, many of our learning activities now require devices. Headphones are essential, please. If your child's Chromebook is not working, I recommend contacting Paul (see contact details below).
- Please LABEL your children's clothing, we have quite a few issues with jerseys/fleeces ending up on the wrong body.

The temperature is getting colder which means there are more coughs and sniffles. Hope you can all keep toastie and warm and healthy for this week.

  Tena koutou. We hope all our mothers were treated with some lovely surprises today. Happy Mother's Day to all our beautiful mothers! Most of our students completed a virtual Mother's Day card. It will be in their google drive account. Please keep in your prayers those children who no longer have their mothers with them. I wanted to thank everyone for the time you took last week to be involved in your child's goal setting for this term. It was a pleasure to see all of my parents and also to meet new parents. Our children looked so charming in their national costumes dressing up for 'Children’s World of Prayer' day. They looked so proud to be part of this. The mini-marathon on Friday was a great day out. It's nice to see our whanau support, running, and cheering on our tamariki thank you. Yes School's about to start!

  Rm 14/15 2021 Teachers: Tai Waititi and Sophie Bowie Kia Ora Tatou. I’m Tai but in the class setting I am known as Mrs YTT, mama and yes sometimes nana. Teaching makes me feel like a rock star ( which is probably what I want to be when I grow up). Week 7 Notices

Kia ora whanau,  We hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend enjoying this gorgeous summer weather! It is hard to believe that there are only three weeks of the term left! Looking back at what was going on this time last year, it was jam packed with lots of activity. Unfortunately many activities have had to be cancelled this year due to COVID and many more will also need to be cancelled. We are currently trying to figure out how our end of year celebrations, such as prize giving and Mass, will be able to be held. These will need to fit the new traffic light system. We will keep you updated when we know when we finalise these arrangements. School Magazine We are publishing a school magazine again this year, and this will be available during the last week of this term. At this stage there are only to be 100 magazines printed.
