Week 11 Notices

 How did we manage to get to the last week of our term so quickly?

This is crunch time and we will still be trucking along and preparing our students for goal setting this week.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks for all the support you have provided for your child this term. Our kids have worked hard this term and we are seeing some good progress. They will be tired, so please ensure they get to bed a little earlier than usual this week.

Congratulations to all of our students who received the Sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Communion on this warm Sunday morning. It was a beautiful celebration and I am honored to have been part of it. May the Lord continue to bless you as you continue your journey of strengthening your faith.

What's Happening this week:

Monday: Cricket/ Library

Wednesday: Interschool Swimming/ Gymnastics at lunchtime.

Thursday: Singing Practice/ ICT Club at lunchtime.

Friday: Last Day of school/ Totara Art Exhibition ( No assembly)

Reminders:

Next Term we will be changing into winter uniforms. These can be purchased from the uniform shop. Please also check our Lost Property Box if your child has lost uniform items.

Request from Mr Macmillan:

‘During the holidays we celebrate ANZAC Day (Sunday 25th April). I am hoping to have a strong representation from our school attending the parade. If your child would like to join us and walk in the parade and participate in the Civic Ceremony at the Bay Trust Forum, Energy Events Centre, Queens Drive please make sure they are at the Lakefront Memorial (intersection of Fenton St and Whakaue Streets)  by 8.30am in their winter school uniform. Jersey, not fleece top. The ceremony concludes at the Energy Events Centre and should be over by 11.00am Parents are also invited to be part of the parade and service. Children just might want to be part of the parade. If you have a poppy your child can wear, please pin it on them. I will have some spare ones to give to children at the parade.  This is a very special ceremony so I do encourage our children to be part of this. ALL STUDENTS ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE.’

Learning in Weeks 4, 5 and 6

Hi everyone, just playing catch up and realising I have photos and videos of the kids learning from a few weeks ago. Week 4: Cross Country Photos Measuring length and understanding what 1m is. Week 5: Samoan Language Week: The children were learning to sing a Samoan song about the hibiscus flower. Mighty Mathematicians Learning about arrays and how these fit in with multiplication. Skip counting to solve multiplication. Week 6: Mighty Mathematicians:Solving simple division by sharing into equal groups.

  Tena koutou. We hope all our mothers were treated with some lovely surprises today. Happy Mother's Day to all our beautiful mothers! Most of our students completed a virtual Mother's Day card. It will be in their google drive account. Please keep in your prayers those children who no longer have their mothers with them. I wanted to thank everyone for the time you took last week to be involved in your child's goal setting for this term. It was a pleasure to see all of my parents and also to meet new parents. Our children looked so charming in their national costumes dressing up for 'Children’s World of Prayer' day. They looked so proud to be part of this. The mini-marathon on Friday was a great day out. It's nice to see our whanau support, running, and cheering on our tamariki thank you.
