Our Holy Week Competition

Image
Google Drawing is such an amazing tool that encourages our children to get creative and show us what they have learned on a particular topic. Last week our students had to choose an event that happened during Holy week and illustrate it. Here are our finalists for this week. See if you can identify: The Washing of Feet, The Last Supper, Jesus crucifixion, Jesus' Tomb.

Goeie More to all our friends and whanau. ( What greeting might this come from?) I trust you all had a restful Easter weekend and some extra quality time with loved ones. I am looking forward to hearing about our student's adventures. I met two young boys yesterday and asked them if the Easter bunny had visited and they said yes it had visited. They also were excited to tell me that the Easter bunnies were still at their house and were planning to live with them. They took me to the back of their whare and in a hutch were two little Easter rabbits named Snowy and Benji. It was a lovely little surprise. Coming up this week: - Swimming all week. Please remind your child to pack their togs and towel. - Cricket on Wednesday. - Chess Club on Wednesday and Thursday lunchtime.  - Library and ICT Club on Thursday. - Whakaue Golden Time on Friday. Students in this house can bring their colours to school.  Friendly Reminders: - Chromebooks need to come to school charged. As we are a BY...

Holy Week

Image
It was Holy Week last week. Our students had some valuable learning experiences taking part in a beautiful Palm Sunday Liturgy. We also got to have our own Last Supper and celebrated this with Room 15 and Rm 12. The Last Supper was Jesus' last meal before he was crucified. It was a very small and simple meal that Jesus shared with his friends. We had loaves of bread, grapes, and figs at our shared last supper.
