Welcome back to Term 4 all parents, caregivers and children.  We hope that children had a refreshing break and you are enjoying the nice Spring weather (on most days). It is going to be a very busy term with a lot of things happening, including the St Mary's RE Review in Week One. We will have special visitors checking out our lovely Catholic School on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Covid-19  As you are no doubt aware NZ is in the midst of a Covid-19 Delta variant outbreak. We will continue to make sure everyone sanitises or wash hands ...

Egging Mrs Waititi

As part of our KOS programme the children got the opportunity to look after a raw egg to help them understand what it is like to be responsible and to look after something. The kids made their own egg spaces and then brought in their own egg. We had a few eggs that didn't quite survive the 3 days. Those children who made their eggs survive were able to 'egg' Mrs Waititi. This happened on the last day.

Tena Koutou everyone and welcome to our second to last week of school. Our first full week at school was spent with activities celebrating Maori Language week. It is so good to see the kids giving it a try and taking part in the different activities.  Here is a video to celebrate: Kia Kaha te Reo Maori: Make the Maori Language Strong. As we are still at Level 2 we are still encouraging that our kids sanitize before they come into class. Please ensure they bring in a drink bottle as water fountains are still out of bounds. Thank you very much for your support in this. Last Friday, some kids came with some fabulous wigs to wear for the day. The school managed to fundraise $580 to go towards the Cancer Society. What a fabulous effort. What's happening this week: Tuesday: Library Friday: Golden Time It is so lovely to see the sun out today. Let's cross our fingers that this weather continues for the rest of the week. Have an awesome week everyone. Kahikatea Team.
